Chris Bottomley started writing programs to log data from PLC Control Systems. These programs evolved in the Hawkeye System.

Riverside Engineering's controls division separately starts developing VantageView and Casting Manager software.
2006
Chris Bottomley and Riverside Engineering teamed up to install Hawkeye on the four M-122 MegaShredders ® for the HugoNeu Schnitzer Joint Venture.
2007
Insight Plant Data Systems was formed as a new self supported company.
Insight PDS acquires the software rights to Hawkeye, VantageView and Casting Manager.
Insight PDS starts deploying Insight Plant Analysis (Hawkeye) on Shredders across the United States.
Insight PDS sets up a Customer Support system for Hawkeye and Insight PAS Users.
2008
Over 10 installations in the US
Insight PDS starts development of a SQL and .NET based suite integrating the Plant Analysis
(Hawkeye) and Casting Manager.
May 2008: First SQL based Analysis System Beta installed on an operational Shredder
2009
The first deployment of IPAS Version 2.0 using MySQL and .NET Framework 2.0.
Insight PDS starts upgrading existing Hawkeye Systems and IPAS to IPAS v2.
