How does the system detect down time?
A: The Insight Data Logger Program, in conjunction with few lines of PLC code, will monitor the Shredder Motor current. The Insight Logger will prompt a Delay Screen on the Shredder Operator HMI any time the current drops below 10-12% of Idle Current for around 10-15 seconds. The System records when the delay occurred and ends the delay when motor current rises above the Idle Current set point.

System Backup
Automatic System Backup
The Insight Data Logger program comes with a self back up feature. Upon installation Insight PDS will configure the Insight Data Logger Program to automatically back up the Activity and Config databases to a folder on a secondary physical hard drive on the Data Collections Server computer every Saturday at Midnight. We will inform the site IT on the location of this directory. Variable databases are not automatically backed up.
Recommended Files and Folders for Manual Back Up We recommend backing up all files in the Automatic Back Up Folder, the EditAct.mdb, and all Variable Databases (all mdb files that start with “V”) in the PPA Data Folders.
